British tennis star Sonay Kartal ‘feeling good’ & starting afresh after long injury spell

British tennis player Sonay Kartal, 24, suffered a pars stress fracture during her match against Elena Rybakina at Indian Wells, sidelining her for six months and causing her to miss three of the four Grand Slams, including Wimbledon. Prior to the injury, Kartal had enjoyed a strong start to the 2026 season, reaching quarter-finals in Auckland and Abu Dhabi and defeating 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys at Indian Wells. She is now set to make her competitive return at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Shenzhen.
