Burley Park’s refurbished cricket wicket hits them for six

Burley Park in West Leeds has installed a new artificial cricket wicket after an 18-month community campaign, replacing the previous surface which had lasted 15 years. The project was led by a sub-group of the Friends of Burley Park, with Left Bank Charitable Trust holding the funds due to the Friends group lacking registered charity status. Funding was secured through a successful application to Wade's Charity, which also led to a connection with Yorkshire County Cricket Club's charitable arm.
