Burns hurls 3 no-hit innings vs. Dodgers in new shortened-start strategy
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Chase Burns, 23, threw 3 no-hit innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday in a 6-3 Reds loss, as part of a new late-season workload management strategy. Manager Terry Francona confirmed that all of Burns' remaining starts this season will be shortened, with left-hander Brandon Williamson serving as a piggyback partner. The Reds are aiming to protect Burns' arm while keeping him active through the end of his sophomore campaign.
