Cameron Norrie adds to British woe at Wimbledon with shock first-round exit

Cameron Norrie, the British number one and former Wimbledon semi-finalist, was eliminated in the first round of Wimbledon after a four-hour match against American qualifier Michael Zheng, ranked 144 in the world, losing in a final-set tie-break. The defeat compounded British misery as both Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu had already withdrawn from the Championships before the tournament began. Norrie had been considered Britain's primary hope for singles success following those withdrawals.
