Canadian Open 2026 tennis: Elena Rybakina secures comeback win over Coco Gauff to reach maiden Toronto final

World No. 2 Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan defeated Coco Gauff 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 in the Canadian Open semi-finals in Toronto on Wednesday, 12 August, coming back from a set down to reach her first-ever Toronto final. The two-time major champion will face six-time major champion and Polish World No. 8 Iga Świątek in the final on Thursday. Gauff had advanced to the semi-finals via a walkover after Belinda Bencic withdrew injured from their quarter-final.
