Canadiens score 4 in 1st period, defeat Hurricanes in Game 1 of East Final
The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 6-2 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final at Lenovo Center on Thursday. Juraj Slafkovsky led Montreal with two goals and an assist, while Nick Suzuki added three assists and goaltender Jakub Dobes made 25 saves. The loss was the first of the postseason for the Hurricanes, who had previously swept both the Ottawa Senators and the Philadelphia Flyers.
