Canelo Alvarez addresses retirement plan and reveals farewell fight is already being planned
Canelo Alvarez, 36, has revealed his retirement plans in an interview with ESPN, stating he expects three or four more fights before a farewell bout in Mexico. The four-division world champion lost his undisputed super-middleweight crown to Terence Crawford in September 2025 and is now targeting a WBC title fight against Christian Mbilli, scheduled for October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mbilli was elevated to full WBC super-middleweight champion following Crawford's retirement earlier in 2026.
