Canelo return fight booked vs. Mbilli in Riyadh

Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 KOs) will return to the ring in September in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to challenge WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs). Alvarez has been out of action since losing the undisputed super middleweight title to Terence Crawford in September, after which he underwent elbow surgery. Mbilli, a French Cameroonian fighter, was elevated to full WBC champion after Crawford retired in December, and previously fought to a split draw with Lester Martinez on the Alvarez-Crawford undercard.
