Caroline Powell breaks European W70 400m record

Caroline Powell, 72, broke her own European W70 400m record at a masters open meeting in Yate, near Bristol, on June 28, improving the mark from 73.49 to 73.12. Powell, who holds UK masters records at W55, W60, and W65, previously set the European W70 record at the 2024 World Championships in Gothenburg. In the same meeting, Clare Elms ran 4:57.30 at age 62 to extend her record as the world's oldest woman to break five minutes for 1500m.
