Carragher apologises to Villa after club threaten legal action
Jamie Carragher apologised to Aston Villa on Saturday after the club, led by chairman Nassef Sawiris, announced plans to take legal action against him following comments he made on the Stick to Football podcast. Carragher had told Villa fans to 'shut the f--- up' after being criticised for suggesting manager Unai Emery should consider taking the Manchester United job, and also stated that 'Aston Villa will never be Man United.' The 48-year-old Sky Sports and CBS pundit described his language as 'clumsy and wrong' and said his remarks were intended to be tongue in cheek.
