Carrick 'not surprised' to remain Man United boss

Michael Carrick has retained his position as Manchester United manager despite the team failing to win any of their last eight games, including a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday. After a series of meetings involving the United hierarchy on Monday, Carrick was kept in charge ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Chelsea. Carrick, who signed a two-year contract after joining as a short-term successor to Ruben Amorim in January and helping United qualify for the Champions League, said he was 'not surprised' to keep his job and remains determined to improve the team.
