Celtic throw away four-goal aggregate lead to crash out of Champions League against Lask
Celtic suffered a stunning collapse in Austria, losing 5-1 to Lask in Linz to crash out of the Champions League despite holding a 4-0 aggregate lead. Callum McGregor had put Celtic ahead in the 21st minute, but the Scottish champions went on to endure one of their worst-ever European results. The defeat costs the club more than £20 million in potential Champions League earnings and means they have missed out on the competition for the second consecutive year.
