Chandler Blanchet opens with 62 for one-shot lead at breezy Butterfield Bermuda Championship

Chandler Blanchet fired a 9-under 62 in the first round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal in Southampton, Bermuda, highlighted by two eagles — one from 50 feet and one from 5 feet — along with six birdies. He holds a one-shot lead over a group of four players including Ben Kohles, Corey Conners, Danny Walker, and Ben Silverman. Blanchet, currently ranked 114th in the FedExCup Fall standings, is competing in one of five remaining tournaments where a top-100 finish would secure full status for the 2027 season.
