Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martínez, 34, underwent successful jaw surgery after colliding with Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite in the 67th minute of Chelsea's 2-0 win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday. Martínez was stretchered off the pitch while receiving oxygen and was replaced by 21-year-old substitute Mike Penders in the 75th minute, with 11 minutes of injury time added due to the stoppage. The Argentina international posted from his hospital bed confirming the operation went well and that he expects to be 'back in a few weeks.'
