Cheltenham cancels cross-country chase at November meeting after 'challenging' summer heatwaves

Cheltenham racecourse has cancelled the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase, originally scheduled for Friday, November 13, due to firm ground caused by an exceptionally dry summer and warm autumn temperatures. The race has been rescheduled to Trials Day on Saturday, January 30, where it will form part of an eight-race card. Clerk of the course Jon Pullin stated that resources are being focused on preparing the Old course for the upcoming Showcase meeting, and warned that further fixture rescheduling may be necessary in the coming weeks.
