Cherie DeVaux returns to familiar Saratoga for the Belmont after her historic Kentucky Derby

Trainer Cherie DeVaux, who made history by winning the Kentucky Derby with horse Golden Tempo, returns to Saratoga Race Course for the 158th running of the Belmont Stakes on June 7, 2026. DeVaux has a personal connection to Saratoga, having worked there early in her career as a hot walker for trainer Chuck Simon after leaving college to pursue her passion for horse racing. Jockey Jose Ortiz is set to ride Golden Tempo in the Belmont Stakes.
