China Open: Aryna Sabalenka suffers shock Beijing exit — a day after new world No 1 Elena Rybakina was knocked out

World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka was eliminated from the China Open in Beijing on Sunday, losing in straight sets 6-4 6-3 to Czech 20-year-old Nikola Bartunkova. This followed the shock exit of world No. 1 Elena Rybakina on Saturday, leaving the WTA 1000 event without its top two seeds in the opening week. Sabalenka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, joins Rybakina in an early departure from the tournament.
