Ciara Mageean’s ‘loss will be felt across the athletics community’, says Lord Coe

Irish middle-distance runner Ciara Mageean, a two-time Olympian and 2024 European champion, passed away on Sunday after being diagnosed with bowel cancer the previous year. World Athletics President Lord Coe paid tribute, stating her loss would be deeply felt across the athletics community. Mageean had been one of Ireland's most celebrated track athletes before her illness.
