Cincinnati Open: Arthur Fils defeats Frances Tiafoe in historic ATP Masters 1000 final between two Black players

French tennis player Arthur Fils, the 21st seed, defeated American home favourite Frances Tiafoe 6-3, 1-6, 6-0 in the Cincinnati Open final on Sunday. The victory marked a historic moment as the first ATP Masters 1000 final between two Black players. Fils became only the third Black man to win a Masters 1000 title, joining Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Ben Shelton.
