Former NHL player Claude Lemieux, a four-time Stanley Cup champion known for his ferocity and physicality, died at age 60, the NHL Alumni Association announced on May 29, 2026. No cause of death was immediately available. Just days before his death, Lemieux had served as the torchbearer for the Montreal Canadiens prior to Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final at Bell Centre.
