Claude Lemieux, Stanley Cup champion and fierce playoff competitor, dies at 60
Claude Lemieux, a four-time Stanley Cup champion and one of the NHL's most celebrated playoff performers, has died at the age of 60, the NHL Alumni Association announced Thursday. Over his 21-season career with six teams, Lemieux won two Cups with the New Jersey Devils and one each with the Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens, claiming the 1995 Conn Smythe Trophy. His 80 career playoff goals rank ninth in NHL history, and he accumulated 379 regular-season goals and 1,777 penalty minutes across 1,215 games.
