Clemson letter to LSU says rostering ex-pros could be breach of game contract
Clemson sent a formal letter from its general counsel to LSU's general counsel warning that LSU could be in breach of their July 13, 2018 game contract if it plays former NFL players Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris in Saturday's game in Baton Rouge. The two players were cut by NFL teams during training camp but have been granted immediate eligibility through a Louisiana state court ruling, creating a legal standoff involving LSU, the NCAA, and the SEC. Clemson stated it still intends to play the game and does not plan to seek financial damages, but felt obligated to formally flag the contractual issue.
