Club pro Michael Block on verge of PGA Tour Champions membership

Michael Block, the club pro at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo who became famous for his hole-in-one alongside Rory McIlroy at the 2023 PGA Championship, is set to officially earn PGA Tour Champions membership after completing the Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic in Allentown, Pennsylvania this weekend. The 54-hole event marks Block's seventh appearance on the 50-and-over tour — the threshold required for official member status — since he turned 50 in June, during which time he has recorded three top-10 finishes and accumulated $326,486 in earnings. Upon gaining membership, those earnings will become official, making him eligible for the Schwab Cup playoffs and placing him around 50th in the Schwab Cup points standings.
