Coco Gauff upset in third round by Anastasia Potapova in French Open

Fourth-seeded Coco Gauff was upset by No. 28 Anastasia Potapova 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 in the third round of the 2026 French Open on May 30. Gauff, the reigning Roland-Garros women's champion, had previously gone 5-0 in third-round appearances at the tournament. Potapova rallied from 3-1 down in the third set to close out the match and advance to only her second Grand Slam fourth round, with the first also having been at the French Open in 2024.
