Colonel Crawford drops Northern 10 opener to newbie Hopewell-Loudon

Colonel Crawford Eagles lost their Northern 10 conference opener 38-22 to Hopewell-Loudon in Week 3, dropping the team below .500 for the first time since 2019. It was their second consecutive loss, having also fallen to Fairfield Union in Week 2, marking the first time they have lost back-to-back games since 2019. Hopewell-Loudon, a Division VI state runner-up, was described by Colonel Crawford coach Jake Bruner as among the best teams he had seen on film, and are favored to win a Division VII state championship.
