Comerford, Hug and Rehm steal the spotlight in London and Leverkusen
At the Para Leichtathletik Heimspiel in Leverkusen on 18 July, German blade jumper Markus Rehm returned from an ankle injury sustained in January to record a world-leading T64 long jump of 8.19m, his first competition in months. Meanwhile, at the London Athletics Meet, Irish sprinter Orla Comerford claimed her second Para athletics Diamond League win of the season, and Swiss wheelchair racer Marcel Hug also secured a Diamond League victory. Dutch athlete Joel de Jong also stood out in Leverkusen, setting a European record of 11.99 seconds in the men's 100m T63.
