Commonwealth Games 2026: A serene Finucane wins track cycling gold in women's sprint ahead of Capewell

Emma Finucane of Wales won gold in the women's individual sprint at the Commonwealth Games 2026, held at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow on 31 July. The two-time world champion defeated GB team-mate Sophie Capewell, who took silver for England, in two races in the best-of-three final. Wales compatriot Rhian Edmunds claimed bronze, while Malaysia's Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri finished fourth.
