Commonwealth T54 1500m final to be re-run
The women's T54 1500m final at the Commonwealth Games, originally held on Wednesday evening (July 29), is to be re-run on Friday morning (July 31) at 10:24am following protests over a controversial crash on the opening bend that caused four athletes to collide, with two unable to finish. Scotland's Melanie Woods had initially won in a Games record of 3:33.39, with Canada's Nandini Sharma disqualified for her role in the crash, and England's Ellis Kottas elevated to second place ahead of Australia's Mikaela Dingley. After multiple protests, Games officials ordered the race to be re-run, though Sharma's disqualification remains in place.
