Cordina to fight Mason for WBO lightweight title

Welsh boxer Joe Cordina will challenge Abdullah Mason for the WBO lightweight title on 4 July in Cleveland at the CSU Wolstein Centre. Cordina, 34, from Cardiff, holds an 19-fight professional record with one loss — a shock defeat to Anthony Cacace in May 2024 — and most recently beat Gabriel Flores Jr by unanimous decision in December 2025. Mason will be making the first defence of the WBO lightweight title he won against Sam Noakes in November 2025.
