Corey Heim outduels Tyler Reddick for first NASCAR Cup win at inaugural San Diego race
Corey Heim, a 23-year-old part-time NASCAR driver from Marietta, Georgia, won his first career Cup Series victory in only his 13th start at the inaugural NASCAR race held at Naval Base Coronado on Coronado Island near San Diego on June 22, 2026. Heim, driving the No. 67 Toyota, overcame slamming into the wall twice and destroying his tires early in the race to outpace Tyler Reddick. The 2024 truck series champion, who will move full-time into Cup next season with 23XI Racing, described himself as 'speechless' after the win on the 16-turn, 3.4-mile street course.
