Cow corner: cricket match abandoned after runaway bull stops play

A cricket match at Burnopfield near Newcastle was abandoned after an 800kg young bull escaped from a nearby farm and stormed onto the playing field at around 3pm. The runaway bull disrupted play and the match was called off as a result. The bull eventually left the field of its own accord.
