Cowboys Pro Bowl guard Smith headed for IR

Dallas Cowboys starting left guard Tyler Smith will undergo thumb surgery and is being placed on injured reserve, according to head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Smith, a Pro Bowl selection, will miss significant time as a result of the injury. The announcement was made on Monday.
