Crawford on verge of return for Mariners -- at third base
Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford is set to be activated from the injured list on Tuesday, June 17, having recovered from a right hand contusion sustained when hit by a 95.6 mph fastball from Framber Valdez on June 5. The 31-year-old has been taking infield drills almost exclusively at third base, suggesting he may shift positions upon his return. This move would allow 20-year-old Colt Emerson, who has impressed while filling in, to remain at shortstop.
