Local leaders attended the UKREiiF conference in Leeds this week, promoting development projects including the £200 million Barrow Rising regeneration programme and St Cuthbert's Garden Village in Carlisle, with a cycling event featuring Sir Bradley Wiggins used to engage potential partners. The county hopes the race's global television audience of hundreds of millions will boost tourism and draw developers to its clean energy, port, and transport projects.
