Cyclist who dressed as man to avoid Taliban wins silver medal

Afghan cyclist Fariba Hashimi won a silver medal in the women's road race at the Asian Games near Nagoya, Japan on Tuesday. Hashimi previously disguised herself as a man to train in Afghanistan before fleeing the country in 2021 after the Taliban returned to power. She pursued her cycling career abroad after escaping a regime that heavily restricts women's rights.
