Dallas tennis player returns to competition following quadruple amputation

Ron Rosas, a 55-year-old Dallas tennis player and former Notre Dame star, underwent a quadruple amputation in 2023 after pneumonia progressed to sepsis shock. A surgeon in Ohio preserved his right elbow joint, enabling him to eventually hold a racket again using specially designed prosthetic attachments. Rosas has now returned to competitive tennis as a Wild Card selection at the WC50 Québec tournament.
