Dalton Smith will defend his WBC light-welterweight title for the first time against Alberto Puello

Dalton Smith will make his first WBC light-welterweight title defence on 24 October against mandatory challenger Alberto Puello in Sheffield. The 29-year-old British fighter, who is undefeated in 19 professional bouts, won the world title in January with a stoppage of Subriel Matias in New York. The Sheffield bout will be Smith's 20th professional fight as he looks to extend his unbeaten record against the Dominican challenger Puello.
