David Coulthard urges F1 to change safety car rules after "dull" British GP
Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard has heavily criticised F1's safety car procedures following the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where the race ended anticlimactically behind the safety car after Max Verstappen beached his Red Bull at Stowe corner on lap 48 of 52. Speaking on the Up To Speed podcast, the 13-time grand prix winner argued the process is unnecessarily slow and backed automatic red flags for incidents occurring within the final 10 laps. Charles Leclerc won the race, while George Russell moved up to second by staying out during the safety car period, denying Lewis Hamilton a podium position ahead of a frustrated crowd.
