DC Open postpones men’s, women’s finals due to rain

The DC Open tennis tournament postponed both its women's and men's finals on Sunday after nearly nine hours of intermittent heavy rain, thunder, and lightning in Washington. In the women's final, top seed Jessica Pegula had won the first set 6-4 against Alex Eala of the Philippines before play was suspended with Eala leading 2-1 in the second set; both matches will resume Monday at noon. The men's final between No. 3 seed Taylor Fritz and young Spaniard Rafael Jodar will follow the women's match.
