Demi Vollering interview: From considering a year off from cycling to her ‘beautiful’ Tour de France victory

Demi Vollering won the 2026 Tour de France Femmes, securing her second title in the race and her fifth grand tour victory overall after winning the ninth and final stage in Nice. The 29-year-old Dutch rider, competing for FDJ United Suez, also claimed the Giro d'Italia, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, and Tour of Flanders this season. Remarkably, Vollering had considered taking a year away from cycling after back-to-back second-place Tour de France finishes in 2024 and 2025, but rediscovered her passion following a reflective trip to the mountains.
