Germany secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Côte d'Ivoire on Saturday, with Deniz Undav scoring twice — an equaliser in the 68th minute and a winner in the 94th minute — after Franck Kessié had given Côte d'Ivoire the lead in the 30th minute. The win puts Germany on six points and guarantees them a place in the World Cup knockout stages for the first time in over a decade. It was a much tougher contest than their previous 7-1 thrashing of Curaçao six days earlier.
