Derek Carr joins UCLA football staff as adviser to first-year head coach Bob Chesney

Former NFL quarterback Derek Carr has joined the UCLA football staff as an adviser following his retirement from professional football. He will work under first-year head coach Bob Chesney, who is leading a turnaround effort for the Bruins program. Carr, a Fresno native who played college ball in California, was announced in the role on August 11, 2026.
