Detroit Lions' Sam LaPorta fully cleared for training camp
Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta, 25, has been fully cleared for training camp ahead of the 2026 NFL season, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. LaPorta underwent a microdiscectomy in November to repair a fully herniated disc, and the surgery successfully resolved the issue. Head coach Dan Campbell had previously indicated LaPorta was trending in the right direction during June minicamp, and this update confirms there have been no setbacks in his recovery.
