Dodgers deliver blockbuster, acquire Skubal from Tigers

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired two-time AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers in a blockbuster trade agreed on Saturday and officially announced on Sunday, ahead of Monday's Trade Deadline. In return, the Dodgers sent three prospects to Detroit: outfielder Zyhir Hope (MLB Pipeline Top 100 No. 25), right-hander River Ryan (No. 68), and right-hander Brady Smith. Skubal, who will be a free agent after this season, is the first reigning Cy Young Award winner to be traded in-season in recent history, and joins the back-to-back champion Dodgers as they pursue a third consecutive World Series title.
