Dodgers mount comeback after bullpen's historic scoreless streak ends
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-3 in a series opener at Dodger Stadium on Monday night, rallying for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning after their bullpen's historic 38-inning scoreless streak was ended by a solo home run from Ezequiel Tovar off Kyle Hurt. The streak, which dated back to May 12, was the longest by a Dodgers bullpen since 1893 and was approaching the MLB record of 45β innings set by the 1962 Detroit Tigers. The Dodgers capitalized on three free bases against the Rockies' bullpen, with back-to-back walks to Will Smith and Hyeseong Kim helping ignite the comeback.
