Dodgers Sign Jonathan Hernández

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed reliever Jonathan Hernández to a major league deal, as announced on May 18, 2026. Hernández, a former Texas Rangers closer, exercised an opt-out clause from his contract with the Philadelphia Phillies to join Los Angeles. In corresponding roster moves, Chayce McDermott was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City and Ben Casparius was transferred to the 60-day injured list to open a 40-man roster spot.
