Yurav Premlall claimed his maiden DP World Tour title with a dominant 14-shot victory at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship in Barcelona, held at Real Club de Golf El Prat. Premlall entered the final round with a five-shot lead after firing a course record 63 in round three, then added six birdies in his first nine holes on Sunday to extend his advantage. His winning margin of 14 strokes came close to threatening Tiger Woods' record 15-shot victory at the 2000 US Open. In a separate event, former Ryder Cup player Chris Wood won the Italian Challenge Open on the HotelPlanner Tour.
