Draisaitl says new Babcock will hold him, McDavid accountable

Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl expressed confidence in new head coach Mike Babcock at the European Player Media Tour on Friday, stating that Babcock will hold all players accountable regardless of their star status, including himself and Connor McDavid. Babcock previously won the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings in 2008 and claimed Olympic gold with Canada in 2010 and 2014, but has not coached in the NHL since being fired by the Toronto Maple Leafs 23 games into the 2019-20 season. The Oilers finished 41-30-11 last season and were eliminated in the first round by the Anaheim Ducks in six games after reaching the Stanley Cup Final the prior year.
