Draper: Mountain Seems Very, Very Big

Jack Draper, the 2025 Indian Wells champion and former world No. 4, suffered a 6-3, 7-5 first-round loss to Martin Landaluce at the Cincinnati Open on Thursday, squandering six set points while leading 5-2 in what was only his second match since withdrawing from Wimbledon with a bone bruise to his left arm. Now ranked No. 143, Draper has been hampered by a left arm injury for over a year and broke down in tears during his earlier defeat to Terence Atmane in Montreal. Due to his ranking drop, Draper will likely need to go through qualifying to compete at the US Open.
