DuPont, projected No. 1 pick in 2027 NHL Draft, gearing up for NCAA hockey

Landon DuPont, a 17-year-old defenseman projected as the No. 1 pick in the 2027 NHL Draft, is currently competing for Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup under-18 tournament in Edmonton, where Canada opened with a 7-3 win over Switzerland on Monday. DuPont, who spent two years with the Everett Silvertips of the WHL and won a championship before reaching the Memorial Cup in May, will join the University of Michigan's hockey program for the upcoming NCAA season.
